Here in New England we are starting to turn the corner into spring, even though the temperature outside doesn’t always agree. However, as I’ve lived here my whole life I’m used to the crazy temperature variation. So no matter if it’s 60 degrees one day or 35 degrees the next, it’s March and this girl is ready to get her spring decor on! The easiest and most cost effective way to bring spring into your home is with fresh or faux florals, some pops of greens and of course when you have little ones in the house a bunny or two doesn’t hurt either ;).
Let’s start with our front door, it’s a beautiful color called St. Lucia Teal. The color is very versatile as it works well with decor in every season. I added this white tulip wreath basket from TJ. Maxx and it cheerfully welcomes guests into our home, plus gives an instant spring feel. Speaking of color I think what I love most about spring decor is that after a long winter/fall, you can finally bring back in all those beautiful soft and subtle pastel colors.
As you probably all know, I fully embrace color and welcome it in our home through the seasons. I also like a good mix of neutrals too. I think the key is finding the right balance. I hope the pops of color in my home inspire you and make you happy!
Our Living Room:
I love tulips! What’s your favorite spring flower? As you enter our living room you’ll notice the fresh pops of blue and green with accents of white tulips on the mantel in matching white vases. I found these vases at Target and the metal mirror at Homegoods.
For our coffee table centerpiece I took a pair of my son’s old rain boots and put skinny glass bottles inside to hold water. Not only do they look adorable holding flowers but they remind me of my son as a toddler splashing in the puddles out on the street.
Another sentimental piece is this little bunny, which is part of the Dedham Pottery collection. Dedham is the town I grew up in and currently live in Massachusetts. This line of pottery began in the Arts and Crafts movement between 1896-1943. All the pieces have this crackled glaze finish with cobalt blue popping through it. This was a special piece to me as they are known for their “bunnies”. (UPDATE: My kids were playing and knocked this bunny over. It broke, so these photos are all I have left of my Dedham Pottery Bunny (insert sad face)).
I’ve added some pops of green to our gallery wall with these boxwood wreaths that I found at Target in their home section.
(RIP Bunny)
Our Master Bedroom Refresh:
I’m excited to share our master bedroom which I refreshed with items from our sponsor Hayneedle. We’ve lived in our home for three years and I’ve never done anything to dress up our bedroom. So this was a long over due and much needed update!
I started with a fresh coat of paint called Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. It goes between a light blue/green with gray undertones. It’s very dynamic and I love that about it. I was in need of an accent color and found these pretty curtains on clearance for $12 a panel from Target. They inspired me to add pops of coral so I went with it. Sometimes all a girl needs is a good deal and she is off in the right direction!
I got this beautiful distressed spindle side able from Hayneedle HERE it’s perfect for a small lamp, book and faux succulent.
Next, I was looking to incorporate this happy color into our bedding and to our wall in the form of art. I shopped online at Hayneedle for this abstract artwork by Kate and Laurel that adds a beautiful focal point to the wall. For the bed I added this Laura Ashley 3 piece cotton quilt set which is so soft and the perfect weight for summer. The other throw pillows I found at TJ Maxx and at Homegoods. I love how the abstract artwork brings the whole color scheme together.
Bench is from TJ Maxx
Rug is from Rugs USA
Buffalo check pillows are from Target
I really love how our bedroom came together! The color is just what it needed to add some personality and really this space a special retreat for us.
Our Kitchen and Dining Room:
My husband built these open shelves with piping and wood from Lowes Home Improvements and we have them on each side of our front window. I love switching out the decor for the seasons. We are hosting Easter this year so I had fun setting the table with these moss runners from Joanne Fabrics, Wooden Chargers from A.C. Moore and bunny plates from Pier One.
I love these little bunny ear napkin rings from the Target Dollar Spot.
I use a little dough bowl and added some mini planters with faux moss and candles to create a centerpiece. I also found these metal tins at a thrift shop for only a couple dollars each. I’m looking forward to planting really plants in them once spring actually does get here.
