Winter Wreath Giveaway with Lynch Creek Farm.

I’m teaming up with Lynch Creek Farm to offer my followers a chance to win a fresh winter wreath!  Read on…

I’ve been so exited for this package to arrive in the mail.  My very first fresh wreath from Lynch Creek Farm! Let me tell you, the quality of this wreath is exquisite. I had a few ideas of where I wanted this wreath to go.  When I saw how beautiful it was in person I decided to make it the focal point of my mantel.

I selected the Winter Radiance wreath in 26″ but they have many different sizes and styles to select from. Check them out here!

Since I already incorporated silver and some black in my mantel I swapped out my hammered metallic mirror for this stunning wreath. All the pine and natural materials in the wreath are from trees located in the pacific north west.

I added some greenery of my own from left overs cut from Christmas tree’s.  I trimmed them and just placed them in to bring the green down around my stocking holder.

I have an outlet below the wreath so I placed these oversize snowflakes there to hide it.  I also tucked these oversized ornaments on the bed of greenery.

The light up metallic stars I had from Michaels a couple years ago and I just nestled them in as well to continue the metallic look.

Welcome to the Magical and Merry Holiday Home Tour!

I’m teaming up with a group of talented home decor blogger’s to share our homes all decorate for this holiday season!

If you are coming from Happy Happy Nester thank you for stopping by!  Isn’t her tour beautiful!?  I love how cozy and inviting her decor is.   As much as I love decorating the inside of my house, I like decorating the outside even MORE!   Growing up, I loved driving around the neighborhood at night in December and seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations.  This time of year is so full of magic and I love creating that atmosphere at our house, which is why on this tour I’m sharing all the exterior of our home.

First I want to show you my farmer’s porch.  This is the entrance we use 99.9 percent of the time as we access this from our driveway.  So I love making it festive and inviting.   I hung an old window frame here that I layer seasonal decor over.  A plain window frame is the perfect back drop to a seasonal element.  This year instead of a wreath I found “merry” at A.C. Moore and painted it in a bright cheery red.

I decided to put this faux flocked tree from Walmart in the corner and I love it here.  These grain sack pillows from Target last year are the perfect farmhouse touch as well.   My kids love filling their Santa mailbox with their ever changing/growing Christmas List.  All these pieces I’ve linked below.

Whenever the weather gets cool, I almost always have a warm beverage in hand.  My Santa mug is my favorite!

I hope you liked my Farmer’s porch.  If you are looking for similar items shop them here.

 Now onto the front door!

Like I said before, I love seeing how every house expresses their love for the holidays.  Even if it is a simple wreath and white twinkle lights.   This year I felt like making a big statement on our front door, literally!  I don’t think Santa will miss our house.   The bright red letters in “We Believe” are the perfect addition this year.  I adopted a new motto for Christmas.  “In our house we believe in the magic of Christmas, because when you stop believing you get underpants.”   I saw this quote somewhere online and it made me giggle!  My kids are still little and I love that they believe in the magic and wonder of Christmas.  As they get older and question things, I think this will help keep their questions at bay.

My garland and wreath are from two years ago form Pottery Barn.   I get so many questions on the color of our door.  It it is St. Lucia Teal by Benjamin Moore.  My daughter decided to get in on the photo shoot fun and honestly it couldn’t have been more perfect.

I love lanterns and I use them all around my home all year round.  These over sized ornaments are fun to add to the scene as well.   This large bucket I found at T.J.Maxx, I was so excited as I was looking for something like this.  I’ll link some similar at the bottom.

There you have it my Home Exterior tour!  What would you think if you drove by?  I hope you enjoyed it and it inspired you to get decorating this holiday season.  I linked some similar items for you if you are interest.

Of course I had to share one with our pup Levi.

Joyful Holiday Home Tour 2017

Welcome!

I’m so happy you’re here to see my home decorated for Christmas. I’ve teamed up with a few other talented home decor bloggers and we hope to inspire you in your own home this season.  If you are coming from Hayley The Mountain View Cottage, isn’t her home stunning?!  She knows how to create a warm cozy space.  Let’s get started, turn up that Christmas music, grab a hot cocoa and kick up your feet as we show you, all the ways we’ve sprinkled holiday cheer though out our home.

First I’ll show you around my living room. You may or may not remember last year at this time the walls were a bright aqua color, I’ve since repainted them Whickham Gray by Ben Moore and I love how subtle they are now.

Because the walls are now more subtle, I can bring in accents of my favorite aqua color. I love how aqua/mint and teal look with linens, white and faux furs. The pillows are a mix from TJ maxx, Homegoods and Target. The sweater blanket is also from Target. I also grabbed some new items from the Hearth and Hand collection at Target for the mantel.

The coffee table we built with legs from my Brother in-law’s DIY table leg’s.  Check him out Drake Casting Co.

Here is a closer up of our mantel,  I chalk painted this metal tray that I found at Savers with chalk paint and then hand drew this “O holy night” script in white.  I wanted to add something new to the mirror.  I used double stick heavy duty tape and just stuck it in the center.  I also found this “Merry Christmas” stocking holder and I love the combo of black and wood.  I will link everything below in the  “SHOP MY LIVINGROOM’ tab.

I love the look of the black and white plaid against our herringbone pattern tile. I brought in some subtle reds but not too much. I wanted it to feel winter-y with wood tones and some cool aquas. Something about red always makes it feel more like Christmas. After the holiday I will take the red out and leave mostly everything up through the winter.

I’m so happy I decided to incorporate that same plaid ribbon seen on the stockings, through the tree as well.  The classic pattern adds a sophistication to a fun non-traditional colored tree.

The kid’s playroom which is off our living room got a few Christmas touches too! I kept it simple with a real  mini tree and pops of red.

The stools I found at Homegoods last year, the table is from Pottery Barn, the rug is Target and the bench is an IKEA hack!  The pillows are a mix from Target and Homegoods!

SHOP MY PLAYROOM:

Moving into the dining room and kitchen area, I used more traditional red and green. Plus my rustic/farmhouse touches.  I bought this chicken feeder at a vintage fair, gave it a good cleaning and then added some seasonal greens, berries and some candles as a centerpiece.

Jordecor Holiday Gift Guide 2017

This holiday season I’ll be sharing my favorite’s– all things HOME of course.  I hope this will inspire you for gift ideas, either for yourself or for someone you know that might also be a total homebody.

First up- comfort at home, otherwise known as lounge wear. Guys, whenever I’m home, I’m almost always in lounge clothes.  It’s a nice change from all those years wearing yoga pants (I still do sometimes). Basically lounge clothes are a step up from PJ’s. Lounge clothes feels like pajamas but look like you could actually leave the house and run a quick errand.   I rounded up some items that will help you feel comfortable, yet put together while hanging at home this holiday season.  Totally appropriate if a friend surprised you with a visit or when that all too familiar amazon delivery person shows up.

  1. Joggers are LIFE for stay at home Mom’s guys.  I can wear these to bed or run a few errands with my sneaks and a cozy sweat shirt.  I love these gray ones.
  2. Slippers that are so soft you’ll never  want to take them off.  I have been known to wear these out of the house.  They have a stronge sole on the bottom so they are a little more sturdy then regular slippers.
  3. Embroidery Sweatshirt.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a feminine and pretty sweat shirt.  This would look great with leggings or the joggers.
  4. Great Indoors” as much as I want to think I’m an outdoor girl, let’s face it I like being inside, warm and cozy.  This shirt is adorable.
  5. These are so cozy looking
  6.  A couple cute pairs of pajamas /leggings.  Super warm and comfortable.
  7. Everyone should have a pom pom hat, it’s just a winter essential.  I like that this one has a color blocking going on if two neutrals.  I’m always cold so sometimes I even keep mine on while I’m the house. Also helps to disguise day old unwashed hair ????????
  8. This past year I’ve recently become obsessed with bralettes.  They are so comfortable, look pretty and are a little more low key then the underwire style. Plus they look adorable under a sweatshirt that falls off shoulder a bit.  They also come in so many colors and styles too.
  9. Sweater/Sweatshirt from LL Bean this is a New England staple.  It is such a warm outside layer, you can wear a button down underneath to make it look more polished or throw it on with the joggers as I usually do.  It’s warm enough to wear with out a coat on days that aren’t too cold.  It’s a great piece to have and comes in many colors.

There you have it my first gift guide all about comfort at home!!! My fave’s in lounge wear.

Joyful Holiday Home Tour

Joyful Holiday Home Tour

Welcome friends to the Joyful Holiday Home Tour!
I have teamed up with 7 other AMAZING bloggers to take you on a tour through our homes decorated for the holidays!  At the end of this post you’ll see a link to the next stop on the tour which will continue tomorrow and run through December 5.  You can also follow each of our accounts on Instagram and see our Joyful Holiday Home Tour pin board on Pinterest.
I’m so happy you’re here!  If you’re following the tour in order, you just came from Marci’s beautiful house from www.lemonstolovelys.com.  I love the way she used pops of red in her bedroom!  I’m also completely obsessed with her mantel (which you have to SEE).  So incase you missed it you can see it here.
Our home is not big, so we really use every inch of it which is why I love making every area feel comfy, special and inviting.  This time of year is the most magical!  Now, let me show you around our 1930’s Cape Cod style home.  I’m taking you through our side door so we’ll walk through our farmer’s porch.  I love using rustic and repurposed items around the home like this old window frame and enamel pot for kindling.  I always wonder what the delivery people think when they leave the boxes here, because you know they’re here A LOT.   Hopefully they enjoy my efforts and don’t think I’m crazy.

KITCHEN/DINING

On to the kitchen from here, we recently renovated and opened the dining room/ kitchen into one big room.  The view below is exactly where a wall used to be.  It’s so nice being able to cook and talk to family as they visit.   I added some green boxwood wreaths on the back of my bar stools with some inexpensive garland I found in the dollar spot at Target.  I simply wrapped it around mason jar lids and added a decorative ribbon!

Livingroom
Since our living room is a bright wall color (Benjamin Moore/ Sea Brook).  I try to stick to white, woods, neutrals and pops of red.  My curtains were also a bold patterned but I just recently hung drop clothes as neutral curtains.  It was so easy and inexpensive.  This year we decided to go for a faux tree.  All my life we enjoyed fresh pine trees but they never last as long as we want to enjoy them for.  I love the flocked tree look and we got ours at Lowes here

Instead of using lots of little ornaments I tried using larger objects and snowflakes to give it a rustic wintery-y look.

Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom1

Creating a Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom for under $75

Now that the Christmas decor is making its way to store shelves it has me itching to add some cozy, farmhouse Christmas cheer to our home.  I know it’s a bit early for me to bring it out every where.  So why not do a sprinkle in our bedroom, right?   After seeing my decor girl crush Liz Marie Galvan’s Farmhouse Christmas bedroom reveal (here), I was inspired to create my own cozy bedroom Christmas look. One of my favorite challenges in decorating is to create a room based on what I can find around the house.   I didn’t want it to break the bank so here is how I did it for under $75 or less.
The first thing I did was strip my bedding down to white and neutral sheets.  I usually have a sea-foam colored buffalo check duvet but I took it off to just have my basic white colored comforter.  You can see the room before below
The target dollar spot is the perfect place to grab holiday accessories on the cheap and it is seriously so adorable.   I made two runs the other day (I know it’s a problem!)  I bought these red grainsack striped pillows for $5 dollars each (total farmhouse vibes), and the two mini pine trees also for $5 (that’s only $20)
Over our headboard I wanted something big that would make a great focal piece.  I went into the basement and looked in my christmas decor bins for something that could act as a large focal piece.  If you don’t have anything like this a beautiful fresh pine wreath would also look beautiful (these go out in the grocery store after Thanksgiving and are reasonable).  Add a simple bow with some festive ribbon and hang it with a 3M hook.
I knew this pre lit branch start would be perfect.  I got this at Homegoods after Christmas a couple years ago on clearance.
This adorable pillow cover with the vintage car and presents is from my other lady crush Ms. Craftberry Bush.  She has some seriously beautiful pillow covers and they are only $20 each, just slip the cover over an existing pillow you have and ta-da, Christmas cheer! (Click pillow to be taken over to her site)
Lastly,  to bring some cozy to the bedding, I laid out my blanket scarf, they are blanket size after all 😉  I purchased this one a couple years ago, on amazon for under $15, I saw the Target dollar spot had them in the fall for $5  So keep your eyes peeled.   If you want to buy one online check them out here I love how it does double duty as a home accessory and style accessory.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired this Holiday season to bring some Cozy Christmas Cheer into your own bedroom for not much money at all.
