Easy Breezy Summer Decorating

(This post was sponsored by one of my favorite stores, Christmas Tree Shops and That!, as always all opinion are my own.)

How is everyone’s summer going so far?!  I’m so excited to be partnering up with one of my favorite stores, Christmas Tree Shops and That! for beautiful summer decor for our beach house.   I love that I never know what I’m going to find when I go there and even better… that the prices are always SO GOOD!

I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that it’s almost the end of July.  This month is flying by!   August needs to chill out and take it’s time because we’re having way too much fun here on Cape Cod.   I’m still in full blown summer mode when it comes to decor too.  Fall decor hasn’t crossed my mind once, ok well maybe for a second. 😉  However, let’s stick with some Easy Breezy Summer decor.

I think summer is the easiest season to decorate for.  It’s not supposed to be fussy at all.  I love using shells and fresh clipped flowers from the garden for most of my decorating around here.  However, thanks to Christmas Tree Shops, I’ll be stepping my decor up a notch on our back deck.

Since we’ve been spending so much time outside on the back deck at the beach house, the more I’ve been noticing how blah it looks.  Basically our outdoor living area was crying out for color and pretty coastal decor.  I was so excited Christmas Tree Shops and That! wanted to partner with me in our outdoor space because their new Coastal Living Seascape line is perfect for our coastal home.  Have you guys seen their new coastal line?  It’s soooooo nice.  Wait until you see all the amazing decor from my trip to Christmas Tree Shops.  Some of you may have watched me shop on my IG stories too.

The wood out here was totally dominating this whole space, no thank you.  I still want to purchase some outdoor rugs very soon.  For now however a beautiful table cloth will do!  Luckily, Christmas Tree Shops has many options in a great light summery fabric.

A table cloth is always a pretty base when you want to add some color.  From there it was so easy to layer pretty plates, with varying color in blues and patterns.  For the center I decided to use lots of shells and candles for the centerpiece to keep it simple.

Aren’t all these colors so pretty together?  Navy, aqua, reds and yellows… they’re giving me so many summer-y chill vibes right now which is exactly how I want to feel out here.   I find table settings to be so much more interesting when they look collected, and mixed up in pattern, color or texture.  This beautiful big salad bowl was part of the Coastal Living Sea Scapes Collection (see the pretty rope detail?), as well as the tablecloth.  The bowls however were a different line from Christmas Tree Shops called Kate and Carly which I really like too.  I’m glad I mixed in a different line so not to be too match-y.

Another Easy Breezy tip is to always keep a caddy with plastic utensils and cute napkins on your outdoor dining table (well as long as its covered) because then you alway have cutlery right there when you need it.  This one we already owned.  Also a beautiful cutting board is a nice way to display food or put appetizers on.  Christmas Tree Shops has a wide array of wooden cutting boards in many shapes and sizes.

How cool are these candle holders?  They are full of sand and sea shells.  Isn’t that such a nice added detail to this easy breezy table scape?   From there large candle selection I went with this beautiful almost tie-dye looking aqua candle and these small starfish candle holders which could also be used for little candies or other snacks.

For the sofas I selected two out door pillows in a combination of two different print out, the navy floral and the teal geometric dot print.  I love how they really add a nice pop of color to the corners of the sofa.   It’s amazing how a few colorful accessories can really bring this space to life.

I also hung this white wood anchor which we already had and this cotton white and neutral throw with tassels over the side of our outdoor sectional which is something we previously owned.  Can we talk about this oversized wall clock?  It has all those coastal farmhouse vibes that I absolutely love and it was only 49.99. I mean for real?!  I had to have it.   I’ll share soon this space to the right of this clock with you.  It will eventually be an outdoor bar counter that will connect to the kitchen.

So there you have it!   All you need to pull your space together is to know your color palette and choose some accessories that don’t overly match, mix in some things you already own and collect over time as well.  Huge thank you to Christmas Tree Shop and That! for partnering up with me on this fun project.  I love their decor and try to check out what they have each season as it is always changing.

I also want thank my Mom’s Friend Nicky Oliva From Oliva’s Market for bringing over an unexpected and delicious dinner of calzone and arugula salad!  I couldn’t believe how impeccable his timing was today, thanks to him I didn’t have to prep any food for this shoot.  So delicious and again made this whole thing Easy!   You guys know I like decorating a lot more than I do cooking especially on a hot day like today.  I highly recommend his food/catering if you’re in the MA area.

Are you guy still in summer mode?!  What’s your decor like at the moment? Still red, white and blue? Anything summery going on?   Thank you for stopping by and supporting the brands I love.  I enjoy sharing my passion for decorating with you and I hope to have inspired you in some way.
